Ingredients
- ½ cup soft shortening
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg separated
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- Chopped nuts
- Jam
Directions
- Cream shortening & sugar
- Mix in beaten egg yolk & vanilla
- Mix together flour & salt
- Add to wet mix
- Roll into balls
- Roll balls into egg white then finely chopped nuts
- Bake 5 min at 350°
- Press thumb in middle
- Bake 8 min more
- Let cool
- Add jam filling to depression
